Symposium

The Herchel Smith Graduate Fellowship program was made possible by a gift to Harvard University and Cambridge University by the chemist and philanthropist Herchel Smith (1925-2001). The Herchel Smith gifts aim to support the education, training and scholarship of scientists and to encourage the lively exchange between Cambridge and Harvard universities. Herchel Smith Fellows participate in a dynamic, interdisciplinary community with regular gatherings and an annual Symposium where students are able to share ideas, present their research, and foster collaborations across diverse fields. These activities help cultivate a vibrant academic network, enriching the fellows’ professional development and advancing scientific innovation at both institutions.
